Mark Doodes Planning prepared and submitted a full planning application for the extension to the car parking provision at Abbott Diabetes Care Ltd in Witney, Oxfordshire.
A planning application to reconfigure the existing car park to provide 109 spaces, making a total of 582 car park spots was granted in October 2019. This application sought to increase the provision even further.
Having undergone significant growth in the past few years , two areas of parking were proposed to be extended; at the main entrance and outside the research and development building.
The proposal included the addition of 60 new car parking spaces, including disabled car parking spaces and parking for visitors. A drone survey of the site was undertaken by MDP and a few choice outputs were submitted with the application.
Objections were received from the Town Council regarding materials to be used, the provision of electric vehicle charging space and landscaping concerns. MDP worked with planning officers to overcome these objections with planning permission being granted in May 2022.
